Community Hub Library Montecchio

What to see

Overlooking Piazza Campo della Fiera, the Community Hub Library is a public space for reading and gathering: shelves of fiction and non-fiction, a children’s area, a themed section on bees linked to the town’s educational apiary, and rooms for book clubs, workshops, and events.

A place for books, people, and community

Montecchio’s Public Library is a true community hub: an open, intergenerational place to read, study, and take part in activities. It hosts book launches, creative workshops, read-alouds, school projects, and reading groups.

It is part of the Local Reading Pact and joins major national campaigns (Il Maggio dei Libri, Bibliopride, Nati per Leggere, Libriamoci). The “Bees & Beekeeping” collection supports the educational apiary and Montecchio’s recognition as a Bee-Friendly Municipality.

What you’ll find inside

Fiction and non-fiction, picture books and titles for children and teens, a local studies section, dictionaries and encyclopedias, audiobooks and periodicals. Study and reference desks, Wi-Fi, and spaces for activities. New purchases enrich the collection every year, with a focus on authors and themes tied to the area.

Building history: from olive mill to Community Hub

The building that houses the library began life as an olive mill; the bond with oil and the land’s work links past and present: where olives were once pressed, ideas are now cultivated. The nearby Liberty-style residence—home of the mill’s owning family—is today the town pharmacy.
